Webjet Group Limited– Termination of Takeover Discussions and Capital Management Update
Webjet Group Limited (ASX: WJL) announced the cessation of discussions with Helloworld Travel Limited and BGH Capital after neither party submitted a binding proposal capable of being recommended to shareholders. The earlier indicative offers were priced at AU$0.90 and AU$0.91 per share respectively. Following 12 weeks of due diligence engagement, the Board concluded there was insufficient certainty of execution and has redirected management focus toward delivering its FY30 strategic roadmap, centred on core business growth, market expansion and technology investment.
For FY2026, the Company expects Underlying EBITDA in the range of AU$28 million to AU$29 million, excluding Webjet Business Travel, which remains aligned with expectations but is anticipated to reduce second-half Underlying EBITDA by approximately AU$0.6 million to AU$0.9 million. The Company also confirmed recommencement of its on-market share buyback of up to AU$25 million, reinforcing balance sheet flexibility and shareholder return priorities.
