S&P/ASX 200 Tumbled; Material Sector is the Top Loser

On 26 April 2022, 12:00 AM AEST, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 is trading lower today. It is down 144.30 points or 1.93% and is currently trading at 7329.00 price levels. All 11 sectors are trading in a red zone along with the S&P/ASX 200. The Materials and Energy sectors are top 2 loser sectors and declining 4.45% and 3.98% in their index value.

Virgin Money UK PLC (ASX: VUK) and Unibail - Rodamco - Westfield (ASX: URW) are the top gaining stocks, which are gaining 2.649% and 2.534% in their stock prices. EML Payments Limited (ASX: EML) and SIMS Limited (ASX: SGM) are the top losing stocks, and are declining 34.318% and 9.763% in their stock prices.

Reasons influencing the market-

• EML Payments Limited has been reduced its guidance for underlying EBITDA, NPATA and revenue in its FY2022 guidance update.
• Iron Ore plunged near 10% to near US$135 a tonne, Oil shed near 5% with US crude sliding below $US100 a barrel and gold dipped below US$1900 an ounce.
• Iron ore prices dropped due to concerns related to Chinese demand amid rising omicron cases in China.
• Hang Seng is gaining 0.38% and FTSE 100 is declining by 1.88%.
