Kaiser Reef Launches Surface Drilling at High-Potential Quill Gold Target
Kaiser Reef Limited (ASX: KAU) has commenced a major surface diamond drilling campaign at its Maldon Gold Project in Victoria, with the newly identified Quill gold target serving as the first focus area. The initial program comprises approximately 4,350 metres of drilling across four priority targets and is expected to continue through the remainder of 2026. The Quill target was generated from recent tailings storage facility sterilisation drilling and follow-up geophysical work, highlighting the company’s systematic approach to unlocking additional mineralisation within the historic Maldon goldfield.
The Quill prospect attracted interest after earlier aircore drilling identified a mineralised interval of 8 metres grading 4.16 g/t gold from a depth of 10 metres, including a higher-grade section of 2 metres at 9.90 g/t gold. Subsequent electrical resistivity tomography identified a north-south trending high-resistivity feature coinciding with the mineralised zone, which management interprets as a potential quartz reef and a compelling follow-up drill target. Beyond Quill, drilling will also evaluate the Union Hill North, Nuggetty South, and Nuggetty prospects, where historical high-grade results and untested extensions offer further exploration upside. Kaiser believes the Maldon district remains significantly underexplored despite historical production of approximately 1.75 million ounces of gold, supporting its long-term growth strategy.
