Mount Ridley Mines Limited: Strong Metallurgical Results Support Heavy Rare Earth Development
Mount Ridley Mines Limited (ASX: MRD) has reported encouraging historical metallurgical results supporting the development of its heavy rare earth element (HREE) resource at the Grass Patch Complex. Testwork demonstrates strong leach performance, with heavy rare earth recoveries reaching up to 86.5% under conventional hydrochloric acid conditions, indicating favourable processing characteristics.
The mineral resource contains a high proportion of valuable HREEs, including dysprosium and terbium, with consistent extraction performance across key prospects such as Vincent, Winston and Jody. Beneficiation studies further highlight upgrade potential of up to 202%, enhancing feed grade prior to processing. Importantly, results confirm that Mount Ridley mineralisation is amenable to conventional hydrometallurgical techniques, providing a clear pathway toward scalable development. The findings establish a solid technical foundation for ongoing optimisation studies, including potential recovery of additional critical minerals such as scandium and gallium.
