Aussie Broadband: ACCC Determination and Earnings Impact Overview
Aussie Broadband Limited (ASX: ABB) has advised that the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has released its final determination on regulated voice interconnection service rates, affecting mobile and fixed voice termination and origination services. The changes are relevant to Aussie Broadband’s wholesale operations through its NetSIP and Symbio voice networks. From 1 July 2026, regulated rates for mobile terminating access services will decline, while fixed terminating and originating access service rates will be progressively reduced through to June 2029. These reductions are expected to weigh on wholesale revenue and profitability from FY27, although there is no impact on FY26. After accounting for market-facing mitigation measures, the annualised EBITDA impact is estimated at approximately AU$3 million in FY27 and AU$6 million in FY28, representing less than 2% of FY26 guided EBITDA. In response, the Group plans to assess additional mitigation initiatives while continuing to focus on efficiency improvements and maintaining its targeted EBITDA margin under its Look-to-28 strategy.
