Archer Materials Advances Biochip Program Towards Clinical Readiness
Archer Materials Limited (ASX: AXE) has progressed its Biochip program by moving into the industrial design phase for a clinically deployable potassium testing device. The company is focusing on developing a scalable and user-friendly biosensor suitable for clinical settings while preparing for future regulatory submissions. It has also successfully integrated Hylid Diagnostics’ haemolysis sensing technology, enabling the detection of plasma free haemoglobin at clinically relevant levels to improve the accuracy of potassium test results.
In addition, Archer expanded the Biochip platform by demonstrating accurate lithium sensing across clinically relevant concentrations, highlighting the technology’s potential beyond potassium testing. The company believes the platform could support a broader range of point-of-care diagnostic applications and has initiated preliminary discussions with an international partner regarding lithium device development and future clinical studies. These developments also support Archer’s preparations for a planned pre-submission meeting with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
