Aquirian Limited (ASX: AQN) announces that it had signed a technology funding and rental agreement with First Quantum Minerals to fast-track the development of the Collar Keeper® System for use on platform drill rigs, as well as immediate privileged access to the CKS system for their current fleet of crawler rigs.
As per the agreement, Aquirian will fast-track the development of the CKS for platform drill rigs immediately and First Quantum Minerals will contribute a maximum of AU$1.1 million towards this development, with the project anticipated to take ~12 months.
Further, Aquirian will provide First Quantum Minerals with preferential access to the system access to the current CKS Crawler rig system along with the CKS Platform rig system as it becomes available. Thus, enabling them to implement them consistent with their drill renewal program. Based on First Quantum Minerals forecasts, it is likely the system will be used on up to 54 drill rigs.
