Mid-Market: S&P/ASX 200 Trading Higher; Mirroring Overnight US Market Performance

On 10 March 2026, at AEDT 12:30 PM, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 is trading higher today, gaining 98.40 points or 1.14%, and is currently trading at 8,697.40 levels. Out of 11, 9 sectors are trading higher along with the gain in the S&P/ASX 200.

The Information Technology and Healthcare sectors are the top 2 gaining sectors, gaining 2.57% and 2.13% in their index values. On the other hand, Energy and Consumer Staples sectors are the top 2 declining sectors, declining 3.48% and 0.07% in their index values.

Life360 Inc. (ASX: 360) and Paladin Energy Limited (ASX: PDN) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 9.754% and 8.437% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Pantoro Gold Limited (ASX: PNR) and Helia Group Limited (ASX: HLI) are the top-losing stocks and are declining by 20.859% and 15.399% in their stock prices.

Factors influencing the market-

  • Australia’s share market recovered on Tuesday after a sharp $90 billion loss the previous day, as oil prices dropped following comments from US President Donald Trump suggesting the Iran conflict may soon come to an end.
  • Telix Pharmaceuticals surged 7% after reporting encouraging early-stage findings from its global phase 3 trial of TLX591, an experimental therapy aimed at treating advanced prostate cancer.
  • CSL Limited’s shares gained after unveiling plans to invest $2.1 billion to expand its plasma manufacturing facilities in the United States.
  • Energy sector is declining today after oil prices fell significantly after US President Donald Trump suggested the war with Iran may soon come to an end, raising hopes among investors and calming markets that had been unsettled by energy price volatility and inflation worries.
  • The Dow Jones closed up by 0.50%, S&P 500 gained by 0.83% and Nasdaq was up by 1.38% in the previous session.
  • Hang Seng is up by 1.52%, and FTSE 100 is down by 0.34%.
