S&P/ASX 200 Closed Lower; Dragged Down By A-REIT And Utilities Sectors

By the end of the trading session on 30 December 2024, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 ended lower by 0.32% and settled at AU$8,235.00. Out of 11, 10 sectors closed lower along with the ASX 200.

The Energy and Healthcare sectors were the top 2 gaining sectors, gained 1.12% and 0.09% in their index values. On the other hand, the A-REIT and Utilities sectors were the top 2 declining sectors, declined by 1.90% and 0.57% in their index values.

Karoon Energy Limited (ASX: KAR) and Atlas Arteria (ASX: ALX) were the top gainers, with 3.461% and 2.766% growth in share prices, respectively. On the other hand, GPT Group (ASX: GPT) and Dexus (ASX: DXS) were the top losers, with a 3.888% and 3.709% drop in share prices, respectively.

• Hang Seng traded flat, and FTSE 100 is up by 0.16%.
