S&P/ASX 200 Closed Higher; 10 Out Of 11 Sectors Closed Higher

By the end of the trading session on 02 January 2025, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 ended higher by 0.52% and settled at AU$8,201.20. Out of 11, 10 sectors closed higher along with the ASX 200.

The Energy and Materials sectors were the top 2 gaining sectors, gained 1.46% and 1.09% in their index values. On the other hand, the Consumer Staples sector was the only declining sector, declined by 0.02% in its index value.

Liontown Resources Limited (ASX: LTR) and Paladin Energy Limited (ASX: PDN) were the top gainers, with 8.571% and 4.365% growth in share prices, respectively. On the other hand, Telix Pharmaceuticals Limited (ASX: TLX) and Clarity Pharmaceuticals Limited (ASX: CU6) were the top losers, with a 3.129% and 2.638% drop in share prices, respectively.
