Out of the 11 sectors, ten sectors ended higher along with the S&P/ASX 200 Index. Industrials and Information Technology sectors were amongst the top gainers for the day with 1.153% and 1.131%, respectively.
Liontown Resources Limited (ASX:LTR) and News Corporation (ASX:NWS) were the top gainers on ASX with a growth of 6.181% and 5.73% in their share values, respectively.
Boral Limited (ASX: BLD) and Seek Limited (ASX:SEK) were the top loosers on ASX. Their shares dropped by 41.807% and 3.839%, respectively.
On 04 February 2022, Liontown Resources shares jumped by 6.181% and settled at AU$1.460. The surge in the share price could probably be because of an announcement released by the Company related to completing the share purchase plan.
News Corporation shares increased by 5.733% and settled at AU$33.380. The growth was driven by the solid Q2 FY2022 results for the period ended 31 December 2021.
Boral Limited shares slipped significantly by ~42% and settled at AU$3.8.
