By the end of the day’s trade on 04 March 2022, ASX 200 index settled in the red zone. It slipped 0.568% and settled at 7110.8. Eight of the eleven sectors on ASX were lower, along with the S&P/ASX 200 Index. Amongst the various sectors, consumer staples was the top gainer, delivering growth of 1.169%. However, the sector has been off -1.64% in the past one week. On the other hand, the Information Technology sector was the top loser with a 3.58% drop in the index.
ASX stocks on 04 March 2022 were hit on Ukraine nuclear plant fire. Oil prices went up high following this update on the nuclear plant fire. It seems that investors are worried because of the ongoing war between the two nations and the nuclear effect.
Wall Street futures were too down following this news. The Hang Seng is down by 2.42%, and the FTSE 100 is down by 2.57% today.
Perseus Mining Limited (ASX: PRU) and Newcrest Mining Limited (ASX: NCM) were the top two gainers on the day, with the growth of 3.116% and 2.764% in the share prices, respectively.
On the other side, Paladin Energy Ltd (ASX: PDN) and PolyNovo Limited (ASX: PNV) were the top losers of the day, with a massive drop of 14.535% and 8.598% in their share prices, respectively.
