ASX/200 Closed Lower by 1.15%, Dragged down by A-REIT

By the end of the trading session on 20 February 2025, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 closed lower by 1.15% and settled at 8,322.80. Out of 11 sectors, 08 ended lower along with the S&P/ASX 200.

Telecommunication Services and Energy are the top-gaining sectors, gaining 2.18% and 1.44% % in their index value. On the other hand, A-REIT and Healthcare is the top-losing sector, losing 2.33% and 2.06% in their index value.

Megaport Limited (ASX: MP1) and Whitehaven Coal Limited (ASX: WHC) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 19.496% and 8.863% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Super Retail Group Limited (ASX: SUL) and Megallan Financial Group Limited (ASX: MFG) went down by 12.477% and 10.099% respectively are the top-losing stocks.
