ASX/200 Closed Lower by 0.58%, Dragged down by Energy

By the end of the trading session on 04 March 2025, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 closed lower by 0.58% and settled at 8,198.10. Out of 11 sectors, 10 sectors ended lower along with the S&P/ASX 200.

Healthcare is the top-gaining sectors gaining 0.28% in their index value. On the other hand, Energy and Utilities are the top-losing sectors losing 3.24% and 2.19% in their index value.

Lynas Rare Earths Limited (ASX: LYC) and Healius Limited (ASX: HLS) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 2.911% and 2.651% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Boss Energy Limited (ASX: BOE) and Mineral Resources Limited (ASX: MIN) went down by 9.849% and 9.654% respectively are the top-losing stocks.

  • Major Wall Street indices ended lower, with the Dow Jones falling 1.48%, the S&P 500 down 1.76%, and the NASDAQ dropping 2.64%. 
  • Meanwhile, the Hang Seng edged down 0.01%, while the FTSE 100 gained 0.70%.
