ASX/200 Closed Higher by 0.86%, Lifted by Industrials

By the end of the trading session on 17 October 2024, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 closed higher by 0.86% and settled at 8,355.90. Out of 11 sectors, 09 sectors ended higher along with the S&P/ASX 200.

Industrials and Financial are the top- gaining sectors, gaining 1.84% and 1.65% in their index value. Whereas, Information Technology and Materials are the top-losing sectors, losing 1.08% and 0.40% in their index value.

AMP Limited (ASX: AMP) and The Star Entertainment Limited (ASX: SGR) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 17.712% and 13.725% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Healius Limited  (ASX: HLS) and Challenger Limited (ASX: CGF) went down by 4.470% and 3.994% respectively are the top-losing stocks.
