ASX/200 Closed Higher by 0.66%, Lifted by Financial

By the end of the trading session on 21 January 2025, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 closed higher by 0.66% and settled at 8,402.40. Out of 11 sectors, 07 sectors ended higher along with the S&P/ASX 200.

Financial and Matreials are the top-gaining sectors, gaining 1.25% and 0.90% in their index value. On the other hand, Utilities  and A-REIT are the top losing sectors, losing 1.56% and 0.20% in their index value.

Liontown Resources Limited  (ASX: LTR) and Hub24 Limited (ASX: HUB) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 11.904% and 11.037% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Tabcorp Holdings Limited  (ASX: TAH) and Johns Lyng Group Limited (ASX: JLG) went down by 4.412% and 3.847% respectively are the top-losing stocks.
