ASX/200 Closed Higher by 0.45%, Lifted by Healthcare

By the end of the trading session on 28 November 2024, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 closed higher by 0.45% and settled at 8,444.30. Out of 11 sectors, 06 sectors ended higher along with the S&P/ASX 200.

Healthcare and Financial are the top-gaining sectors, gaining 1.61% and 0.80% in their index value. On the other hand, Energy and Industrials are the top-losing sectors, losing 0.32% and 0.28% in their index value.

Pro Medicus Limited (ASX: PME) and Zip Co Limited (ASX: ZIP) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 8.655% and 3.681% in their stock prices. On the other hand, The Star Enteratinment Limited (ASX: SGR) and Pladin  Limited (ASX: PDN) went down by 7.143% and 5.019% respectively are the top-losing stocks.

  • Oil prices steady ahead of OPEC+ meeting: Crude oil prices remained largely unchanged in thin trading ahead of the US Thanksgiving holiday, with market focus shifting to the upcoming OPEC+ meeting.
  • Global stock markets showed mixed performance, with the Dow Jones down 0.31%, the S&P 500 losing 0.38%, and the NASDAQ declining 0.60%. 
  • Meanwhile, the Hang Seng dropped 1.10%, while the FTSE 100 gained 0.20%.
