ASX/200 Closed Higher by 0.36%, Lifted by Consumer Discretionary

By the end of the trading session on 24 January 2025, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 closed higher by 0.36% and settled at 8,408.90. Out of 11 sectors, 09 sectors ended higher along with the S&P/ASX 200.

Consumer Discretionary and Healthcare are the top-gaining sectors, gaining 2.12% and 0.73% in their index value. On the other hand, Energy and Information Technology  are the top losing sectors, losing 1.16% and 0.34% in their index value.

Premier Investments Limited  (ASX: PMV) and Mondadelphous Group Limited (ASX: MND) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 6.592% and 5.832% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Coronado Global Resources Inc.  (ASX: CRN) and Regis Resources Limited (ASX: RRL) went down by 6.338% and 6.231% respectively are the top-losing stocks.
