ASX 200 Ended Lower By 0.72%, Dragged Down by A-REIT and Energy Sectors

By the end of the trading session on 02 December 2022, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 ended Lower by 0.72% and settled at 7,301.50. Out of 11 sectors, 7 sectors closed lower along with the ASX 200.

The Health Care and Telecommunications Services sectors were the top 2 gaining sectors, gained 1.09% and 0.82% in their index values. On the other hand, the A-REIT and Energy sectors were the top 2 declining sectors, declined by 2.66% and 2.45% in their index values.

St Barbara Limited (ASX: SBM) and Capricorn Metals Ltd (ASX: CMM) were the top gainers, with 10.400% and 8.089% growth in share prices, respectively. On the other hand, Corporate Travel Management Limited (ASX: CTD) and IPH Ltd (ASX: IPH) were the top losers, with a 5.854% and 5.152% drop in share prices, respectively.

  • Oil prices rose on the expectations of an increase in oil demand amid further relaxation on covid curbs in China.
  • Dow has closed down by 0.56%, S&P 500 down by 0.09%, and NASDAQ closed up by 0.13%.
  • Hang Seng is down by 0.32%, and FTSE 100 is down by 0.19%.
