S&P/ASX 200 Ended Higher By 1.06%; Buoyed by Energy Sector

By the end of the trading session on 16 June 2023, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 ended higher by 1.06% and settled at 7,251.20. All 11 sectors closed higher along with the ASX 200.

All the sectors closed higher along with the ASX 200. The Energy and Information Technology sectors were the 2 top gaining sectors, gained 3.34% and 1.63% in its index value.

AGL Energy Limited (ASX: AGL) and Whitehaven Coal Limited (ASX: WHC) were the top gainers, with 9.730% and 8.268% growth in share prices, respectively. On the other hand, The Star Entertainment Group Limited (ASX: SGR) and Collins Foods Limited (ASX: CKF) were the top losers, with a 5.406% and 3.027% drop in share prices, respectively.
