By the end of the trading session on 04 January 2023, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 ended higher by 1.63% and settled at 7,059.20. Out of 11 sectors, 10 sectors were closed higher along with the ASX 200.
The Information Technology and Financial sectors were the top 2 gaining sectors, gained 2.91% and 2.23%, respectively in the index value. On the other hand, the Energy sector was the only declining sector, declined 1.32% in its index value.
Brainchip Holdings Ltd (ASX: BRN) and Sayona Mining Limited (ASX: SYA) were the top gainers, with 11.409% and 10.526% growth in share prices, respectively. On the other hand, ANZ Group Holdings Limited (ASX: ANZ) and Woodside Energy Group Ltd (ASX: WDS) were the top losers, with a 2.748% and 2.377% drop in share prices, respectively.
