ASX 200 Ended Higher By 0.21%; Lifted By Energy and Financial Sectors
By the end of the trading session on 15 September 2022, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 ended higher by 0.21% and settled at 6,842.90. Out of 11 sectors, 8 sectors closed lower despite the gain in the ASX 200.
The Energy and Financial sectors were the top 2 gaining sectors, gained 3.61% and 1.12% in their index values. On the other hand, the A-REIT and Healthcare sectors were the top 2 declining sectors, declined by 1.03% and 0.89% in their index values.
Coronado Global Resources Limited (ASX: CRN) and New Hope Corporation Limited (ASX: NHC) were the top gainers, with 9.144% and 6.010% growth in share prices, respectively. On the other hand, Lake Resources N.L. (ASX: LKE) and South32 Limited (ASX: S32) were the top losers, with a 12.736% and 7.408% drop in share prices, respectively.
Energy shares traded higher today, led by the ASX’s coal producers on the prospect of the first strike by American railroad workers in 30 years.
