Market Alert : Global Sell-Off Extends: Liquidity Fears and Growth Concerns Dominate

ASX/200 Closed Lower By 1.19%; Dragged down by Materials

By the end of the trading session on 7 September 2023, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 ended lower by 1.19% and settled at 7,171.00. All 11 sectors closed lower along with the ASX 200.

Materials and Energy sectors were the top-declining sectors, gaining 3.04% and 1.49% respectively in their index values.

Liontown Resources Limited (ASX: LTR) and Chalice Mining Limited (ASX: CHN) were the top gainers, with 9.025% and 7.931% growth in share prices, respectively. Super Retail Group Limited (ASX: SUL) and The Star Entertainment Limited (ASX: WAF) were the top losers, with 7.579% and 5.700% drop in share prices, respectively.
