Market Alert : Global Sell-Off Extends: Liquidity Fears and Growth Concerns Dominate

ASX/200 Closed Lower by 0.52%, Dragged down by Information Technology

By the end of trading session on 13 November 2025, benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 closed 0.52% lower at 8,753.40. Out of 11 sectors, 09 sectors ended lower along with the S&P/ASX 200.

Materials and Healthcare were the top-gaining sectors, gaining 1.44% and 0.05% in its value. On the other hand, Information Technology and A-REIT were the top-losing sectors, losing 3.55% and 2.94% in their values.

IGO Limited (ASX: IGO) and Liontown Resources Limited (ASX: LTR) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 15.608% and 11.787% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Droneshield Kimited (ASX: DRO) and Graincorp Limited (ASX: GNC) are the top-losing stocks, losing 32.013% and 11.062% in their stock prices.

Other Factors influencing the market:

  • DroneShield shares slumped 31.4% to $2.25 after several board members — including CEO Oleg Vornik and Chairman Peter James — collectively sold more than $70 million in stock.
  • GrainCorp dropped 10.8% to $7.98 after announcing that its full-year net profit had fallen 35% to $40 million.
  • Orica gained 2.5% to $23.40 as the company delivered its strongest earnings result in over a decade, reporting a 32% jump in annual net profit to $541 million.
  • Sandfire Resources edged 1.4% higher following its deal to acquire up to an 80% interest in Havilah Resources’ Kalkaroo copper-gold project. Havilah’s shares soared 48% to 40 cents on the news.
  • Gold and copper prices moved higher as markets speculated that the U.S. Federal Reserve may need to roll out additional rate cuts to support economic conditions, while silver also posted strong gains.
  • Globally, markets showed a mixed tone: the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 0.68%, the S&P 500 inched up 0.06%, and the Nasdaq Composite slipped 0.26%. 
  • Meanwhile, the Hang Seng dipped 0.10%, and the FTSE 100 added 0.12%.
