Market Alert : Global Sell-Off Extends: Liquidity Fears and Growth Concerns Dominate

ASX/200 Closed Lower By 0.76%; Dragged Down by A-REIT

By the end of the trading session on 27 November 2023, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 ended lower by 0.76% and settled at 6,987.60. Out of 11 sectors, 10 sectors closed lower along with the ASX 200.

Information Technology sector was the top-gaining sector, gaining 0.45% respectively in their index values. A-REIT and Consumer Discretionary sectors were the top-declining sectors, losing 1.35% and 1.26% respectively in their index values.

Weebit Nano Limited (ASX: WBT) and Ramelius Resource Limited (ASX: RMS) were the top gainers, with 5.413% and 3.934% growth in share prices, respectively. Core Lithium Limited (ASX: CXO) and Sayona Mining Limited (ASX: SYA) were the top losers, with 4.348% and 4.167% drop in share prices, respectively.

  • Oil prices stabilized after a three-day decline, with indications that OPEC+ might consider deepening production cuts in its upcoming postponed meeting on Thursday.
  • The Dow closed with a gain of 0.33%, the S&P 500 increased by 0.06%, while the NASDAQ experienced a slight decline of 0.11%.
  • On the international front, the Hang Seng showed a decrease of -0.50%, while the FTSE 100 demonstrated a modest increase of 0.06% on the current day.
