Information Technology and Energy sectors were the top-declining sectors, gaining 2.65% and 1.27% respectively in their index values.
Paladin Energy Limited (ASX: PDN) and ASX Limited (ASX: ASX) were the top gainers, with 4.145% and 1.543% growth in share prices, respectively. Silver Lake Resources Limited (ASX: SLR) and Brainchip Holdings Limited (ASX: BRN) were the top losers, with 8.334% and 6.780% drop in share prices, respectively.
Silver Lake Resources saw an 8.3% decline in its stock price after confirming its acquisition of an 11% stake in West Australian gold producer Red 5.
Exclusive rights pertaining to a2 Milk's infant milk formula products in China, Australia, and New Zealand contributed to a 1.2% drop in a2 Milk's stock price, while Synlait experienced an 8.5% decrease.
Azure Minerals witnessed a 12.3% decrease in its stock value following the release of new lithium intersections at its Andover project in Western Australia.
The oil market continued to rise due to OPEC+ supply cuts, tightening the market. Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman is scheduled to address a conference regarding the kingdom's crude policy and its stance on achieving net-zero emissions.
