Financial and Consumer Staples sectors were the top-gaining sectors, gaining 1.85% and 1.33% respectively in their index values. On the other hand, Industrials was the top-losing sector, losing 0.06% respectively in their index values.
Virgin Money UK PLC (ASX: VUK) and Life360 Inc. (ASX: 360) were the top gainers, with 32.899% and 5.831% growth in share prices, respectively. On the other hand, Core Lithium Limited (ASX: CXO) and Genesis Minerals Limited (ASX: GMD) were the top losers, with 4.546% and 2.999% drop in share prices, respectively.
GQG Partners saw a 0.5% decrease in share value following the announcement of Pacific Current selling its stake.
Magmatic Resources experienced a 76% surge in shares after Fortescue Metals acquired a 19.9% stake.
Hub24 shares reached a record high of $41.76, marking a 2% increase. CEO Andrew Alcock expressed confidence in the platform's long-term growth prospects.
The Australian 10-year government bond yield briefly fell below 4%, currently down by 2 basis points to 4.01%.
