Market Alert : Global Sell-Off Extends: Liquidity Fears and Growth Concerns Dominate

ASX/200 Closed higher by 0.70%; Lifted by Information Technology

By the end of the trading session on 28 December 2023, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 ended higher by 0.70% and settled at 7,614.30. Out of 11 sectors, 9 sectors closed higher along with the ASX 200.

Information Technology and Materials sectors were the top-gaining sectors, gaining 1.03% and 1.02% respectively in their index values. Utilities and A-REIT sectors were the top-losing sectors, losing 0.61% and 0.01% respectively in their index values.

Core Lithium Limited (ASX: CXO) and Sayona Mining Limited (ASX: SYA) were the top gainers, with 6.250% and 4.615% growth in share prices, respectively. Boss Energy Limited (ASX: BOE) and Charter Hall Retail REIT Limited (ASX: CQR) were the top losers, with 3.783% and 2.420% drop in share prices, respectively.
