Market Alert : Global Sell-Off Extends: Liquidity Fears and Growth Concerns Dominate

ASX/200 Closed Higher By 0.47%; Lifted by Information Technology

By the end of the trading session on 24 August 2023, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 ended higher by 0.47% and settled at 7,182.10. Out of 11 sectors, 03 sectors closed lower along with the ASX 200.

Information Technology and Financial sectors were the top-gaining sectors, gaining 4.17% and 1.14% respectively in their index values. Utilities and Consumer Staples sectors were the top declining sectors, declining 1.13% and 1.13% respectively in their index values.

Wisetech Global Limited (ASX: WTC) and ARB Corporation Limited (ASX: ARB) were the top gainers, with 8.117% and 7.900% growth in share prices, respectively. Ramsay Health Limited (ASX: RHC) and Costa Group Holdings Limited (ASX: CGC) were the top losers, with 11.949% and 10.844% drop in share prices, respectively.
