Mineral Resources Limited (ASX: MIN) and Novonix Limited (ASX: NVX) were the top gainers on ASX 200 with a growth of 5.685% and 4.913%, respectively. Mineral Resources shares improved post the Company released its lithium business update.
The US and Europe are planning new sanctions to punish Moscow over the alleged atrocities in Ukraine.
There is a fear amongst investors that the sanctions could impact commodity prices and inflation in the region.
NASDAQ-100, NASDAQ Composite, and Dow Industrial ended in the green territory in the previous trading session.
The Hang Seng is up 2.10%, and the FTSE 100 is up 0.23% today.
