ASX 200 Closed Higher By 0.23%; Ahead of Key U.S. Inflation Data

By the end of the trading session on 13 July 2022, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 ended higher by 0.23% and settled at 6,621.60. Out of 11 sectors, 7 sectors closed higher along with the gain in the ASX 200.

The Consumer Discretionary and Information Technology sectors were the top 2 gaining sectors, gained 1.18% and 1.18% in their index value. On the other hand, the Energy and Utilities sectors were the top 2 losing sectors, declined 1.78% and 1.46% in their index values.

Megaport Limited (ASX: MP1) and PointsBet Holdings Limited (ASX: PBH) were the top gainers with 7.317% and 5.371% growth in share prices, respectively. On the other hand, Woodside Energy Group Ltd (ASX: WDS) and Viva Energy Group Limited (ASX: VEA) were the top losers, with a 2.904% and 2.847% drop in share prices, respectively.
