Western Mines Group (ASX: WMG) announced the final Phase 3 assay results for 19 RC holes drilled within the Mulga Tank Ultramafic Complex. All holes showed nickel sulphide mineralization, with standout results from MTRC046 and MTRC056 reporting high-grade zones such as 1.25% Ni and 0.60% Cu. The program successfully extended known mineralization beyond previous targets, with intervals as long as 216m grading 0.27% Ni. Key geochemical indicators—elevated sulphur, Cu, Co, and PGE levels—confirm active magmatic processes. The high MgO dunite host rock suggests potential for low-grade, large-volume nickel deposits similar to Mt Keith. Out of 58 holes drilled across Phases 1-3, 55 intersected mineralization, reinforcing the complex's potential.
With these latest findings, WMG aims to refine its geological model and pursue further exploration, with potential open-pit mining prospects emerging. Results from five additional regional RC holes are still pending, further expanding future exploration opportunities.
