Vietnam Rare Earths Partnership: Blackstone Explores Integrated Value Chain

Blackstone Minerals Limited (ASX: BSX) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Vietnam Rare Earths JSC (VTRE) and Australian Strategic Materials (ASM) to collaborate on developing a fully integrated rare earths mine to metals value chain in Vietnam. Vietnam possesses the world's largest Rare Earth Element (REE) reserves outside of China, primarily located in the Northwest Region, near Blackstone's Ta Khoa Nickel Project. VTRE owns the only Vietnamese midstream rare earths refinery and seeks a strategic partner for upstream mining and processing.

Blackstone has relevant experience and a local team in the region, while ASM specializes in downstream processing of rare earths. The MOU aims to assess mining licenses, conduct a pilot flotation program, and explore a commercial model for a comprehensive rare earth business. This move is part of Blackstone's stakeholder development program to advance the Ta Khoa Project in Vietnam, benefiting from the growing interest in rare earths for electric vehicle supply chains. The collaboration is expected to create new critical minerals supply chains and foster positive outcomes for all parties involved.
