The Gas Production Program is on schedule to deliver results by 2025

Dec 11, 2024

Jade Gas Holdings Limited (ASX: JGH) announced progress in its gas production well program at the Red Lake gas field in Mongolia's South Gobi region. The drilling of the first two surface wells from a single pad has been completed, setting the stage for lateral components to be finished in the coming weeks.

This is part of a four-well program to demonstrate commercial gas production and establish reserves. A key monitoring well has been drilled to 385 meters, where production casing was set, intersecting 10.8 meters of gassy coal, slightly higher than expected. This well will help guide the horizontal drilling program and monitor gas content and pressure response in the coal seam. Preliminary gas content is estimated at 14 m³/t, comparable to previous results. Jade's drilling contractor, DWK, uses Mongolia's largest rig to support the 20-well program planned for 2025.
