Synertec and Santos reach commercial milestone in renewable energy project

Synertec Corporation Limited (ASX: SOP) and Santos Limited (ASX: STO) have made further developments on their Goods and Services Contract (GSC), which outlines commercial terms for future roll-outs of Powerhouse units. After the successful commercial-scale field trials, Santos has now issued an initial commercial Purchase Order for the Powerhouse unit installed at Myalla. During the trials, the unit operated reliably and delivered emission-free, renewable power through extreme weather events for over 90 days, enabled replacement of fossil-fueled generators, reduced carbon emissions, and demonstrated significant cost reductions for the field owner.

 Additionally, the gas that was previously utilized to power the generators is now redirected towards the Australian gas network, resulting in increased revenue for the field owner. The commercialization milestone signals the completion of the field trial phase. Moving forward, Synertec plans to provide ongoing support to Santos in its efforts to implement Powerhouse units on a larger scale across its operations, while also exploring additional opportunities for the system's application in various sectors, including energy, mining, and others in both Australia and the USA.
