Structural Monitoring Systems Evaluates Impact of U.S. Tariff Changes.

Structural Monitoring Systems PLC (ASX: SMN) acknowledges the U.S. administration’s 2 April 2025 announcement on reciprocal tariffs for global imports. The Aerospace Industries Association of Canada confirms that USMCA-compliant goods from Canada and Mexico will remain tariff-free, while non-compliant imports will face a 25% tariff. Additionally, a 10% tariff will apply to certain Canadian energy and potash imports. SMS advises its industry partners to assess their trade status with legal and customs advisors. 

Following an initial review, SMS confirms that its AEM avionics products, compliant with the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA/USMCA), remain unaffected by tariffs. Orders placed before 2 April 2025 are also exempt from the new measures. The company will continue to monitor the evolving trade environment and provide updates if any material impacts arise.
