Starpharma Welcomes Cheryl Maley as New CEO

Starpharma Holding Limited (ASX: SPL) has appointed Ms Cheryl Maley as its new CEO and Managing Director, effective January 8, 2024, following a global search. Maley brings over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, having held leadership roles at Novartis, AbbVie/Abbott, Servier Laboratories, and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. Her expertise spans various therapeutic areas, including oncology, women's health, infectious diseases, and more.

Maley's leadership at Novartis included overseeing the successful launch of Australia's first CAR T cell therapy. Dr Jackie Fairley, the current CEO, will retire, offering advisory support until June 2024. The Board is optimistic about Maley's strategic, commercial, and operational expertise, citing her relevant experience in pharmaceutical innovation. Maley has been serving as Acting CEO and Strategic Advisor at Biointelect and is a Non-Executive Director of Clarity Pharmaceuticals.
