Ioneer Limited (ASX: INR) announced impressive core drill results at the Rhyolite Ridge Lithium-Boron Project in Nevada, USA. Drill results confirm the significance of the "Shelf Zone" in the southeast section of the South Basin at Rhyolite Ridge, with lithium grades in all 12 holes averaging over 2000 ppm. The newly identified "Shelf Zone" results show lithium grades over 20% higher than the project's average, highlighting its unique mineralogy. The Shelf Zone is conveniently located and outside the Critical Habitat area. Permitting is progressing on schedule, with the final EIS and Record of Decision expected soon, followed by an updated ore reserve estimate.
The company aims to minimize the impact on Tiehm’s buckwheat habitat by using conservation efforts while advancing operations. These findings support co-existence with Tiehm’s buckwheat, anticipating the construction of the US's first new lithium mine in 50 years by 2025. Key drill results include significant lithium and boron grades in the South Basin, indicating the potential for critical energy transition materials.
