Sayona Mining Limited (ASX: SYA), has reported initial drilling results for 2023, unveiling a significant expansion of the Moblan Lithium Project's footprint. The drilling revealed a 750m eastern extension to the South Pegmatite system, characterized by thick, flat-lying spodumene pegmatite. High-grade intersections include 41.0m at 1.66% Li2O, 42.7m at 1.42% Li2O, and 34m at 2.09% Li2O, with exceptional intervals of 4.01% and 4.03% Li2O.
Additionally, a new near-surface pegmatite was identified in eastern step-out drilling. These results extend beyond the existing resource pit shell, signaling the potential for resource expansion. The findings contribute to the ongoing Moblan Definitive Feasibility Study, expected to be completed in November 2023. Sayona's northern Quebec lithium hub, centered on the Moblan project, continues to grow in size and significance. With plans for 60,000m of drilling in 2023, Sayona aims to expand its resource base to support future lithium hydroxide production and downstream processing.
