S&P/ASX 200 Trading Higher By 1.63%; All 11 Sectors Are Trading In Green

On 29 September 2022, at AEST 12:15 PM, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 is trading higher today, gaining 105.20 points or 1.63%, and is currently trading at 6,567.20 levels. All 11 sectors are trading higher along with the S&P/ASX 200. The Energy and Materials sectors are the top 2 gaining sectors, gaining 3.52% and 2.89% in their index values.

Premier Investments Limited (ASX: PMV) and Coronado Global Resources Limited (ASX: CRN) are the top gaining stocks, gaining 12.917% and 8.695% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Iress Limited (ASX: IRE) and Link Administration Holdings Limited (ASX: LNK) are the top losing stocks and are declining 15.780% and 2.334% in their stock prices.

Factors influencing the market-

• The Australian government 10-year bond has dropped 16 basis points to 3.95% as investor appetite for global bonds returns on the back of an emergency move by the Bank of England to support U.K. gilts.
• Premier Investments shares are gaining more than 11% after it posted its full-year results and announced a special dividend and a share buyback plan.
• Iress Limited’s share price is declining after the company has downgraded its profit guidance just days before chief executive Andrew Walsh leaves the role.
• Oil prices rose further today after expectations of declining U.S. supply sparked a two-day rally, with the focus now turning to upcoming Chinese manufacturing data and an OPEC meeting that could potentially result in more supply curbs.
• Dow has closed up 1.9%, S&P 500 up by 2.0%, and NASDAQ closed higher by 2.1%.
• Hang Seng is up by 2.15%, and FTSE 100 is up by 0.30%.
