Resources & Energy Group Limited (ASX: REZ) is set to kick off gold ore processing activities at East Menzies Gold Field. The initial phase involves vat leaching, targeting 5,000 tonnes of ore from Maranoa with an average diluted grade of approximately 4.6 grams per ton of gold. The company aims to generate income through this campaign, which will be used to sustain exploration efforts for both nickel and gold. The strategic approach encompasses tapping into the shallow, higher-grade Maranoa ore to establish the viability of vat leaching for gold production.
Successful results could lead to the expansion of the vat leach campaign to encompass more shallow resources at Maranoa and Goodenough gold deposits, with a combined potential of 51,000 ounces of gold. These initiatives align with the company's broader vision of capitalizing on its tenement package spanning 100 square kilometers, housing promising gold and nickel prospects.
