Pure Resources Limited (ASX: PR1) announced it has exercised its option to acquire the Reedy Creek Garnet Project, a high-grade, hard-rock garnet deposit in Western Australia, located on a live mining lease granted until 2038. This acquisition, near key infrastructure and international markets, will allow Pure to progress towards meeting growing garnet demand in Asia. Through initial ore sorting, Pure achieved an end-product with 80% garnet in a single pass, with peak quality in the 150–250 micron fraction, ideal for water jet cutting.
This project could become one of only three globally viable hard-rock garnet mines. Pure has already extended the skarn strike by 4.5 km and plans to initiate trial mining. The company is also evaluating further acquisitions in copper, gold, and rare earths, while developing current Australian gold projects. This announcement, approved by the Board, emphasizes Pure’s commitment to expanding its battery metals portfolio.
