Perpetual Resources Begins Metallurgical Testing at Raptor REE Project in Brazil’s Caldeira Complex

Nov 04, 2024

Perpetual Resources Ltd (ASX: PEC) has initiated metallurgical testing on samples from its Raptor REE Project, located within Brazil’s Caldeira Alkaline Complex, a globally recognized site for rare earth elements (REE). The program, conducted by Australia’s Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO), aims to confirm the Raptor Project as an Ionic Absorption Clay (IAC) discovery, validate initial recovery factors, and analyze metallurgical characteristics. The project’s drill intercepts have revealed high-grade concentrations of Total Rare Earth Oxides (TREO), particularly rich in neodymium (Nd) and praseodymium (Pr).

Results from Raptor’s auger drilling program show grades that are comparable to those of the nearby Meteoric Resources site, which holds a JORC Mineral Resource Estimate of 545 million tonnes at 2,561 ppm TREO. Positive results from the current metallurgical tests would support a Maiden Mineral Resource Estimate in 2025. Preliminary test outcomes are expected by the end of 2024, potentially advancing Raptor as a promising REE project.
