Northern Star announced the results for the half-year ended 31 December 2022

On 20 February 2023, Northern Star Resources Limited (ASX: NST) reported its financial results for the half-year ended 31 December 2022 as follows:

• The company sold 773 koz of gold at AISC of A$1,766/oz and AIC of A$2,299/oz and is on track to achieve its FY23 guidance.
• Cash earnings for the period increased by 3% to AU$467 million.
• Underlying EBITDA fell by 12% to AU$633 million, as higher gold prices were offset by cost challenges.
• The company has a strong balance sheet with net cash of AU$145 million and cash and bullion worth AU$495 million.
• It declared a record interim fully franked dividend of 11 cents per share, up 10% from the previous year, representing a 27% payout of cash earnings, which is within its dividend policy range of 20-30%.
• The company also has an on-market share buy-back program worth AU$300 million, with 42% or AU$127 million already complete.
