Minbos Resources Limited (ASX: MNB) has achieved a significant milestone by signing a binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Angola's leading agro-industrial group, Grupo Carrinho. The MOU outlines an agreement for the supply of Cabinda Phosphate Rock as fertilizer. Over the first seven years of production (until 2030), the deal covers the supply of up to 869,000 tonnes of Cabinda Phosphate Rock, accounting for 66% of stage-1 production during that period.
The pricing mechanism is based on the relative agronomic effect of Cabinda Phosphate Rock fertilizer compared to Triple Super Phosphate. The agreement involves supplying the rock through the Port of Lobito to Carrinho's Benguela facility, where Minbos and Carrinho will collaborate on optimizing its use through field trials with small and large-scale commercial farmers. The MOU is conditional upon successful field trials to confirm the suitability of Cabinda Phosphate Rock as a fertilizer.
