Mid-Market: S&P/ASX 200 Trading Lower By 0.73%; All 11 Sectors Are Trading In Red Zone

All 11 sectors are trading lower along with the S&P/ASX 200. The A-REIT and Energy sectors are the top 2 declining sectors, declining 1.70% and 1.10% in their index values.

Lovisa Holdings Limited (ASX: LOV) and Boral Limited (ASX: BLD) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 1.305% and 1.125% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Liontown Resources Limited (ASX: LTR) and Weebit Nano Ltd (ASX: WBT) are the top-losing stocks and are declining by 11.765% and 3.552% in their stock prices.

Factors influencing the market-

• Australian shares declined at the open after UK inflation data and US retail sales numbers forced traders to further trim interest rate cut expectations.
• Ampol Limited’s shares are declining even as it said its full-year unaudited replacement cost operating profit (RCOP) will be slightly ahead of its record in 2022.
• Liontown Resources Limited’s shares plunged more than 10% following NYSE-listed lithium giant Albemarle has sold its 4% stake in the lithium play after market close on Wednesday, Street Talk reported.
• APM Human Services tumbled more than 30% after the company has issued an aftermarket profit downgrade for the first half.
• Oil prices are trading flat as severe cold that disrupted some U.S. oil production offset disappointing economic growth in China that stoked worries about energy demand.
• The Dow has closed down by 0.25%, the S&P 500 down by 0.56%, and the NASDAQ ended lower by 0.59%.
• Hang Seng is down by 3.71%, and FTSE 100 is down by 1.48%
