Mid-Market: S&P/ASX 200 Trading Lower By 0.43%; Mirroring US Markets

The Materials sector is the only gaining sector, gaining 0.34% in its index values. On the other hand, the Healthcare and Information Technology sectors are the top 2 losing sectors, declining 0.85% and 0.81% in their index values.

Resmed Inc. (ASX: RMD) and Challenger Limited (ASX: CGF) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 2.871% and 1.863% in their stock prices. On the other hand, The Star Entertainment Group Limited (ASX: SGR) and Silver Lake Resources Limited (ASX: SLR) are the top-losing stocks and are declining by 13.334% and 4.803% in their stock prices.

Factors influencing the market-

• The Australian share market is falling today following a broad sell-off on Wall Street amid concerns about the strength of the US consumer and the outlook for interest rates.
• Star Entertainment Group Limited is the biggest laggard on the ASX 200 with a drop of 13%. The company raised AU$565 million from institutional investors after offering new shares at 60¢ apiece.
• The Dow has closed down by 1.14%, the S&P 500 down by 1.47%, and the NASDAQ ended lower by 1.57%.
• Hang Seng is down by 1.48%, and FTSE 100 is up by 0.02%.
