Mid-Market: S&P/ASX 200 Trading Lower By 0.16%; Dragging Down By Healthcare And Energy Sectors

On 02 October 2023, at AEDT 12:00 PM, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 is trading lower today, declining 11.10 points or 0.16%, and is currently trading at 7,037.50 levels. Out of 11 sectors, 5 sectors are trading lower along with the S&P/ASX 200.

The A-REIT and Telecommunication Services sectors are the top 2 gaining sectors, gaining 0.75% and 0.42% in their index values. On the other hand, the Healthcare and Energy sectors are the top 2 losing sectors, declining 0.62% and 0.55% in their index values.

Weebit Nano Ltd (ASX: WBT) and Cromwell Property Group (ASX: CMW) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 4.088% and 3.378% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Coronado Global Resources Inc. (ASX: CRN) and Resmed Inc. (ASX: RMD) are the top-losing stocks and are declining by 3.214% and 2.585% in their stock prices.

Factors influencing the market-

• Coronado Global Resources’ shares are dropping following the coal producer revised down its full-year production guidance after disruptions at its Buchanan mine in Virginia, US.
• The gold miner De Grey Mining Limited’s shares are the worst performing shares, declining after completing a AU$300 million share placement priced at AU$1.05 a share.
• Syrah Resources’ shares has jumped more than 10% after flagging “improved natural graphite demand” in the most recent quarter.
• The Dow has closed down by 0.47%, the S&P 500 down by 0.27%, and the NASDAQ ended higher by 0.14%.
• Hang Seng is up by 2.51%, and FTSE 100 is up by 0.08%.
