The Materials and Financial sectors are the top 2 gaining sectors, gaining 0.80% and 0.41% in their index values. On the other hand, the A-REIT and Utilities sectors are the top 2 losing sectors, declining 0.88% and 0.77% in their index values.

Core Lithium Ltd (ASX: CXO) and Perseus Mining Limited (ASX: PRU) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 5.208% and 3.324% in their stock prices. • The Australian share market inched closer to reclaiming its record high, tracking gains on Wall Street and in iron ore, which last changed hands at US$141.24 (AU$206) a ton in the futures market.
• Oil prices dropped nearly 2%, eating into the previous day's gains as investors monitored developments in the Red Sea, where shippers are returning despite further attacks.
• The dollar fell to a five-month low against the euro and a basket of currencies on expectations that the Federal Reserve could soon cut U.S. interest rates.
• The Dow has closed up by 0.30%, the S&P 500 up by 0.14%, and the NASDAQ ended higher by 0.16%.
• Hang Seng is up by 1.74%, and FTSE 100 is up by 0.36%
