Mid-Market: S&P/ASX 200 Trading Higher By 0.35%; Gaining By Financials And Healthcare Sectors

On 06 October 2023, at AEST 12:00 PM, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 is trading higher today, gaining 24.10 points or 0.35%, and is currently trading at 6,949.60 levels. Out of 11 sectors, 4 sectors are trading higher along with the S&P/ASX 200.

The Financial and Healthcare sectors are the top 2 gaining sectors, gaining 1.06% and 0.41% in their index values. On the other hand, the A-REIT and Energy sectors are the top 2 losing sectors, declining 0.93% and 0.63% in their index values.

IRESS Limited (ASX: IRE) and Ramelius Resources Limited (ASX: RMS) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 3.377% and 3.344% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Magellan Financial Group Limited (ASX: MFG) and Pexa Group Limited (ASX: PXA) are the top-losing stocks and are declining by 9.195% and 6.835% in their stock prices.

Factors influencing the market-

• S&P/ASX 200 is gaining today as the Wall Street pared losses following data showed the number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits rose moderately last week but still held near historic lows.
• Magellan Financial Group Limited’s shares are declining today after it reported a AU$4 billion drop in funds under management in September. The fund manager reported a AU$35 billion in FUM in its latest update, down from the AU$39 billion it recorded in August.
• The Dow has closed down by 0.03%, the S&P 500 down by 0.13%, and the NASDAQ ended lower by 0.12%.
• Hang Seng is up by 0.10%, and FTSE 100 is up by 0.53%.
